The National Blue Badge Day of Action

Posted in General News on Thursday, April 4th, 2024

This year’s National Blue Badge Day of Action, organised by Lambeth council, will take place on Friday 24th May. It is a critical initiative uniting all UK councils in a commitment to rigorously enforce the Blue Badge scheme and DMUK is proud to be supporting it. It is a day where participating councils intensify enforcement, increase public awareness, and educate communities on the correct usage of Blue Badges. This initiative is instrumental in protecting the rights of disabled motorists and ensuring accessible parking bays are used properly, enhancing accessibility and independence for disabled motorists. Therefore, we implore as many councils as possible to take part.

Last year’s event saw 82 councils across the UK taking part, and we hope this year we will see even greater participation. The participation of local authorities in this event demonstrates a commitment to equality, accessibility, and duty of care within our communities. Together, let’s send a strong message that misuse of Blue Badges will not be tolerated, and that we stand united in our resolve to ensure justice for genuine Blue Badge holders. DMUK whole heartedly supports the National Blue Badge Day of Action and we implore as many Local Authorities as possible to take part.

Hi Andrew, The Blue Badge Day of Action encourages councils to take part. So the best thing to do may be to contact your local authority to see if they intend to.
