M25 junction 10/A3 Wisley interchange | Upcoming Closures

National Highways have informed DMUK of the following closures

Please consider these closures when planning your journey.

Their overnight closures usually start from 10pm and finish by 5.30am Monday to Thursday and 11pm to 6am Friday but this can change depending on the volume of traffic and when we can close the road safely.

Week commencing Monday 6 May

On Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 May there will be a full closure of the M25 West bound from the M25 J10 to the M25 J9.

Diversion route anticlockwise (from Heathrow towards Gatwick) for most traffic: leave the M25 at junction 10 to join the A3 towards London. After 9½ miles at the Hook interchange leave the A3 turning right onto the A240 Epsom, Reigate. Continue for 3 miles to the Esso roundabout and turn left onto the A240 Reigate. Continue for 3 miles then turn right onto the A217 Reigate, M25. After 3½ miles turn left to re-join the M25 motorway at junction 8.

Diversion route anticlockwise (from Heathrow towards Gatwick) for over height vehicles (over 15’0 / 4.6m): leave the M25 at junction 10 to join the A3 towards London. After 1 mile at the Painshill interchange leave the A3 turning right onto the A245 Cobham (A307 Esher). After ½ mile turn left onto the A307 Esher. Continue for 4½ miles then turn right onto the A309 London, Sutton. Continue for a further 2 miles to the Hook interchange and turn right onto the A243 Dorking. After 6 miles, turn left to re-join the M25 motorway at junction 9.

On Wednesday 7 May there will be a full closure of the M25 East Bound between M25 J9 to J10.

Diversion route clockwise (from Gatwick towards Heathrow) for most traffic: leave the M25 at junction 8, A217 (Reigate). Follow the A217 London, Sutton, (A240) Kingston. After 3½ miles turn left onto the A240 Epsom, Kingston. After 3 miles at the Esso roundabout, turn right onto the A24 (A240) Kingston. Continue for 3 miles and turn left onto the A3 Portsmouth, Guildford. Continue for 9½ miles to the M25 and re-join the motorway at junction 10.

Diversion route clockwise (from Gatwick towards Heathrow) for over height vehicles (over 15’0 / 4.6m): leave the M25 at junction 9 A243 (Leatherhead). Follow A243 London, Hook, Chessington. After 6 miles, turn left onto the A309 Esher, Staines, (A3) Guildford, Portsmouth. After 1½ miles turn left to the A307 Esher, Guildford A3. After 4½ miles, in Cobham, turn right onto the A245 M25, Guildford A3, Weybridge, Woking. After ½ mile turn left onto the A3 Portsmouth Guildford. Continue for 1 mile and re-Join the motorway at J10.

M25 Closure

Friday 10 May to Monday 13 May

From 9pm Friday 10 May to 6am Monday 13 May, there will be a full closure of the M25 in both directions between Junction 9 (Leatherhead) and Junction 10 (Wisley) to carry out the installation of a bridge and gantry.

Long distance and local diversions will be in place. Drivers should look to re-route or re-time their journey or use other forms of transport.

You should only drive through this area during this closure if your journey is essential as we expect there will be long delays during this time.

This is the second of several closures of the M25 and A3 National Highways will be undertaking during 2024. Future closure dates are subject to change and the third one will be announced as soon as possible following completion of the works on Monday 13 May 2024.

This closure coincides with other ongoing improvements on our network including the installation of additional emergency areas on the M25 J23-27, M25 J5-7, M4 J10-12, M3 J2-4a and M20 J3-5. More information about these works can be found here.

Week commencing Monday 13 May

On Monday13, Tuesday 14 and Thursday 15 there will be a full closure of the A245 Byfleet Road west bound and east bound between the B365 Seven Hills Road and Painshill roundabout.

Diversion east bound via the B365 Seven Hills Road for 2 miles to Queens Road. Continue for 1.3 miles to the A244 Queensway. Continue for 3.5 miles to the A3 Esher Common junction of the A3. Turning right to the A3 south bound continue for 3 miles on A3 and Exit at the Painshill Junction of the A3.

Diversion west bound via the Painshill junction to the A3 north bound and continue for 3 miles exiting to the Esher Common junction and turning left to the A244 Copsem Lane. Continue along the A244 for 3.5 miles to Queens Road turning left to the B365 Seven Hill Road and continue for 2 miles to the A245 Byfleet Road.

On Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May there will be a full carriageway closure of the M25 J10 gyratory, around the southern half. Inclusive of the M25 clockwise exit and entry slip roads, the A3 south bound entry and A3 north bound exit slips.

The diversions will be via M25 J9 (Leatherhead) and return via M25 J11 (Chertsey) and return and the A3 north bound Painshill and return.

Is it possible, on 10th June, to travel north or south through the M25 interchange on the A3 or os the whole interchange shut??
