Drink and Drug Driving Crackdown across Scotland

A crackdown on drink and drug driving began across Scotland on 26th June the crackdown will run for three weeks until 16th July. During last year’s two-week campaign 585 roadside breath screening tests were carried out along with 152 drug tests. Officers detected 295 DUI offences which means there was a failure rate of 40%. Separate figures from Transport Scotland reveal there are 20 deaths a year caused by drink driving.
