The vehicle leasing firm, Leasecar.uk has recently looked into the average costs of driving over a 65 year period.  The firm discovered that the average Brit will drive nearly 600,000 miles in their lifetime which is the equivalent of travelling to the moon and back.

Traffic lights to be Installed on Motorways

In an effort to tackle congestion Highways England is looking into the possibility of installing traffic lights on the country’s motorways. A trial scheme worth £7million is set to go live in December at the Croft Interchange between Junction 21A of the M6 and junction 10 of the of the M62 near Warrington Cheshire.

Instructors Lobby Against Unsafe Driving Manoeuvre

The new and updated driving test will be implemented from the 4th December and in it candidates could be asked to park on the right (opposite side) of the road. A number of driving instructors have signed an e-petition to get this manoeuvre removed from the test on the grounds that it is unsafe and against the guidance given in the Highway Code.
