Displaying a GB plate when driving in Europe is compulsory, and failure to comply with European driving regulations could result in an on-the-spot fine.

If you have Euro plates, that include the GB Euro symbol then you do not require to display a conventional sticker within EU. However, in some countries outside the EU a conventional sticker is still required.
