Safer Parking Accessible and Safer Parking Accessible EV aim to become recognised throughout the whole of the UK for accessible and inclusive parking and electric vehicle charging facilities.

Safer Parking Accessible will enable everyone, regardless of their accessibility needs, to identify car parks and facilities, such as EV charge points, that they can use with ease.

Safer Parking Accessible EV includes requirements and recommendations for accessible EV charging informed by the new British Standard Institution accessibility standard, PAS 1899. A handbook has been produced to provide parking operators with guidance and clarity, simplifying the process to ensure that their car parks and EV charge points are accessible to everyone. you can read about it in this leaflet.

Each car park undergoes an assessment by specially trained Area Managers and it is the car park that is awarded not the organisation. This is because local authorities or large private companies can have many car parks, but not all of them will pass. Accredited car parks can be found at train stations, hospitals, universities, town centres, shopping centres, leisure centres, airports, supermarkets, banks and constabularies.

By Clicking Find a Car Park below you will be able to go through to the Safer Parking website where there is a search option and you can find any car park that has been accredited.
