Our Experience of Naidex 2025

Posted in General News on Friday, March 21st, 2025

DMUK’s Marketing and Campaigns Manager visited Naidex this year. Along with our CEO.

it was great to be in an environment of people trying to create change and improve lives, the room constantly had good energy. It provided a great opportunity for us to continue to build relationships for the charity. We spoke to National Highways and caught up with DMUK Member, Janine Williams and Mr Kudhail, the Managing Director of Accessible Vehicle Club (AVC), a DMUK Corporate Member. We also met two possible new charity ambassadors and spoke to many more people.

Of course, for the public, Naidex is also all about the exhibitors and getting a chance to see the latest in independent mobility products. So, what were our highlights this year?

Our Naidex Highlights

Accessible Vehicle Club (AVC) - The Unveiling of an adapted Classic Car

One of the highlights of the show was AVC’s unveiling of a 1978 BMW 633csi that is now part of their fleet of vehicles and has been fitted with push/pull hand controls. This is the first adapted classic car to be part of a fleet. It would be ideal for weddings or day trips.

AVC is a relatively new company which offers disabled people the chance to lease an adapted vehicle through a hassle-free monthly subscription service you can lease an adapted car as and when you need it. You can pay for your monthly subscription in various ways. If you are on PIP, ADP or any other benefit, you can claim as usual and use those funds for your monthly payments. This scheme is for those who do not need a vehicle every day of the year, but rather shorter, frequent periods over 12 months. RockClimber All-Terrain Wheelchair

On the product front, we were impressed by the RockClimber all-terrain wheelchair from Rock Engineering. The RockClimber is a unique, all terrain powered mobility scooter designed entirely by Rock Engineering. Every RockClimber is made to order for each customer through their own engineering facility at the heart of “motorsport valley” in Northamptonshire. This means each RockClimber is fully customisable.

The RockClimber comes with a range of up to 50Km, 8kW of power (x4 2kW in-wheel motors) and 1600Nm of torque, making it great for off roading and traversing steep heels. It has two 2kWh Lithium-Ion batteries and the charger is included.

Rock Engineering has a great deal of design and manufacturing experience, so if you have a specific need or requirement then they can certainly help you find a solution.
