Posted in General News on Friday, December 3rd, 2021

Data released by the Department for Transport (DfT) has revealed that speeding offences across the UK have lessened compared to last year. A comparison of the recorded offences taken from between April and September this year show a 12% drop compared to the same period last year. This decrease in speeding offences was recorded across all types of road, with single carriageways seeing a 28% decrease in speeding offences and motorways seeing a 4% decrease. However, this year's figures are still above pre-pandemic levels. Compared to the pre-pandemic figures there is a 20% increase in the number of speeding offences recorded on single carriageways and a 28% increase in the number of speeding offences recorded on 30mph roads.
