Now I can Drive or Sit Upfront in my Wheelchair

Posted in General News on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021

Sirus Customer, Richard Johns drives from his wheelchair, and when he doesn’t want to drive, he can switch to the upfront passenger position. Sirus Automotive’s conversion, based on the Ford Tourneo Connect is designed to provide freedom, independence and inclusion.

At first, I didn’t want a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV). Looking back, I would advise anyone to consider this much sooner – it really does make life so much easier. Especially with a Sirus conversion, which are much more car-like than some of the big vans out there.

Enjoying the freedom of driving

My WAV enables me to drive from my wheelchair and also allows me to sit in the front with Marie when I don’t want to drive. I can get in and out with ease as the ramp and door are automated. Sirus also fitted an automatic wheelchair locking system so Marie doesn’t need to bend to use manual wheelchair restraints.

Quality and safety

This is without doubt the best vehicle we have ever owned, it is real luxury. The air suspension means it just glides along the road and it feels solid, safe and secure, especially in my wheelchair. The quality and finish are amazing, it looks like it has come from the manufacturer and you literally can’t tell where the conversion starts and ends.

Service and reliability

When we spoke to another converter, they told us we wouldn’t get better than a Sirus vehicle! Which was of course very reassuring, and exactly what we’d hoped for. The aftersales service has been excellent, which gives us a sense of security knowing that the back-up and service is available. We are so pleased with our vehicle I could cry. We would be lost without it!”.

Sounds great and convenient, I wonder how much is the advance payment?
