The Inclusive Toolkit

Posted in General News on Monday, August 3rd, 2020

The Business Disability Forum (DBF) has been working with Skipton Building Society to create a communications toolkit which includes several resources designed to help businesses and organisations around the UK to communicate more effectively with those who have specific accessibility needs. The resources available in the toolkit include best practice case studies, informative videos, options for making small print accessible and further advice and guidance. A total of £23,760 is being used to compile this toolkit and it is hoped that it will help all businesses to ensure they are communicating as effectively as possible with their disabled customers. The CEO of the Business Disability Forum, Diane Lightfoot said: “Some disabled customers and colleagues experience particular barriers when it comes to accessing and processing information. It is the responsibility of organisations to remove these obstacles and make their products and services accessible to everyone. With the annual spending power of disabled people estimated to be £249 billion, it is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense.”
