Get a Replacement MOT Certificate Online

Posted in General News on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has recently launched a service which allows motorists who have misplaced the car’s MOT certificate to print it off at home rather than having to pay £10 for a replacement copy. In 2018 630,000 replacement MOTs were issued and this cost British motorists a collective amount of more than £6 million. The new online system allows motorists to view, save and print the MOT certificate for their car, van or motorcycle as long as it was issued after 20th May 2018. The service will be made available for those who have buses, lorries and/or coaches later in the year. Neil Barlow, Head of Vehicle Engineering at the DVSA commented: “We want to make sure that motorists have the information they need to keep their vehicle safe to drive. The free copy MOT certificate service gives consumers choice and saves them time and money. The service will also help us to protect consumers by giving them a free alternative to businesses that charge for a copy MOT certificate online.” If you would like to use the service you can do so by visiting https://www.gov.uk/replacing-lost-damaged-mot-certificate.
