Upcoming Overnight Closures on the M3, A34, and A33

Posted in General News on Friday, June 13th, 2025

We’ve been advised of upcoming overnight closures on key routes in our region as part of ongoing maintenance and safety upgrades. These works are being carried out by National Highways and may affect your travel plans.

What You Need to Know:
Closures will run from 9pm to 6am, though exact times may vary depending on traffic and how quickly the roads can be closed safely.

Planned Closures:
Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 June 2025:
The M3 southbound will be closed between junctions 8 and 9 for sign installation and gantry removal.
➤ Diversion in place for M3 southbound junctions 8–9
Thursday 19 June 2025:
The M3 northbound will be closed between junctions 9 and 8 to allow for CCTV replacement and gantry removal.
➤ Diversion in place for M3 northbound junctions 9–8
Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 June 2025:
The A34 southbound at Three Maids Hill and the A33 southbound at the Cart and Horse junction will be closed for safety-critical CCTV work, signage updates, and vegetation clearance.
➤ Diversions in place for A34/A33 southbound traffic
Please note that diversion routes are suitable for all vehicle types, but drivers are strongly advised not to use Satnav while following them, as it may route you through unsuitable roads or back into the closed area.

Closures can change at short notice. For up-to-date information, we recommend checking the National Highways daily closures page or using the Traffic England website for live travel updates. You can also follow National Highways South East on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook for real-time alerts.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
