Plans to Lay Fibre Optic Cables Along Motorways

Highways England has announced plans to install fibre optic cables along a substantial number of Britain’s motorways by 2030. The idea is that connected cars will receive information about the traffic conditions as well as the road ahead. Highways England is also hopeful that local authorities will be able to use these systems to receive information about which roads are in need of repair.
